Anyone who is using the temple services for religious and cultural reasons should become a member

Why should someone become a member?

To support the temple. Just imagine, where will you go to worship if we do not have a temple here in Louisville.

There are many towns in United states still do not have a temple. They all travel several hundred miles to go to a temple.

Don't you think we have this special privilege of having temple in our town, even though we are 10,000 miles away from home.

What do I need to do to become a member of the Hindu temple?

If you are already contributing $365 per year to the temple in the form of donation or for the services rendered (In other words $1 a day) you are already a member.

Whom should I contact to become a member of the temple ?

You do not need to contact anyone. You just have to make sure that you are contributing atleast $365 a year . If not you can write a check and deposit in our Hundi.

How many families are using the temple services and How many of them are members?

There are atleast 400 to 500 families using the temple services throughout the year.

According to the latest statistics we only have 100 families who are actually contributing more than $365 a year.

Here is the Reality:

Operating cost per year (Approx) $100,000 per year

Priest salary & Benefits $ 50,000

Utilities $ 30,000

Pooja items $ 10,000

General Maintenance $ 10,000

* Present Situation: $ 365 x 100 members = $ 36,500 / year

If more contribute $ 365 x 200 members = $ 73,000 / year

$ 365 X 274 members = $ 100,000 / year

$ 365 x 300 members = $ 109,500 / year

$ 365 x 400 members = $ 146,000 / year

If your house hold income is $ 25,000 then $ 365 is 1.46%

$ 50,000 then $ 365 is 0.73%

$ 75,000 then $ 365 is 0.49%

$100,000 then $ 365 is 0.37%

$150,000 then $ 365 is 0.24%

When you contribute $ 365 / year you get following privileges:

Right to elect the members to the board of regent, Hindu

Temple of Kentucky:

Eligible to be a board of regent member

Rent the cultural center hall (old temple) at a

discount.

50% discount in pooja fees for the members.
